At this writing there are 8 available boats for our time slot with Superior Charters, 6 boats available from Sailboats, Inc. and call Crows Nest Yachts for availability.
When you make your reservations, make sure you tell them you are with the SCSC Bayfield Cruise or mention my name (Bill Hooper). Call or email me if you have any questions 612-590-7235 or firstname.lastname@example.org
We have a kick off dinner for our group on Thursday, August 4th. We shove off for the Apostle Islands Cruise on Friday morning, August 5th. During our stay in the islands we will have an SCSC club sponsored wine party on one of the islands. Sail through Sunday the 7th or if you can get away from work on Monday the 8th, book your charter through then.
You can pick your group of sailors and find a boat to accommodate your group, or if you are solo or a couple looking to get on another boat, we will do the best we can to find a berth or put together another boat load. But you’d better get going. Time is ticking away. Typically all expenses are shared among each individual on each boat, including the charter, food, beverages, fuel, pump out, etc. Spreading the cost out makes this affordable for anyone.
Another email will be sent out shortly requesting reservations for our kick off dinner (we need a head count) and I will request specific info about each boat, the boat name, manufacturer and length, the skipper, all crew members and their phone and email addresses.
This is a fabulous event. If you’ve never sailed the Apostle Islands, it’s a most beautiful area of Lake Superior with 22 islands – many with light houses you can visit, sea caves you can spelunker in your dinghy, quiet anchorages to swing on a hook, shores where you can light a fire, shallow, warmer water for swimming and plenty of land and forests to hike in. We sail where we want and end up as a group in a different anchorage each night. Fish if you have the gear and a license. We check the weather and keep it safe.
Now boot up that computer and make the call to your friends, relatives, crew and the charter company and Hooper if you need further details. See you in the islands !!!
