Crew Looking for Boats

  • Name:  Scott Eickschen
Message:  I grew up sailing occasionally with my dad and my uncle in central MN. I’m ASA 101 certified and am eager to gain more experience and knowledge. Other passions include fishing, rock climbing, and really any other outdoor adventure. I take direction very well, am a quick learner, and have good common sense. If all goes as planned, my wife and I will someday retire onto a bluewater sailboat. Hope to see you on the river!

  • Name:  Paul Fuhrman
Message:  Hi, I trimmed on Harmony for the past 3 years. Harmony isn’t racing Tuesday nights this year so I’m looking for another boat. I’ve mainly trimmed but I started learning foredeck and would be happy to learn more about that position. I can be a regular every Tuesday night if needed. I’ve raced in the past on on Olson 30 as well. I’ve owned a Tartan 30 and an Islander 36 but only cruised those boats. Thanks for the consideration!

  • Name:  Craig
Message:  Hi. I’m new to sailing, completed ASA 101 last fall on Minnetonka and was able to get on a crew at Wayzata for a Thursday race before the season ended. Racing wasn’t even on my radar, but that was fun! I’d like to pick up where I left off but relocated to Woodbury so I’m exploring St Croix opportunities instead to gain more experience of all types, and have a very flexible schedule and available for cruising or racing. Thanks, and looking forward to meeting up.

  • Name:  Walker Stutzman
Message:  I began sailing as a kid on Lake Eau Claire (outside of Fall Creek, WI). Did a little sailing in college, and started back up in earnest about ten years ago while in law school. Three years ago, bought a Catalina 22, which I keep at Lake Wissota Yacht Club in Chippewa Falls. Love sailing there, but usually am single-handed cruising and so learned a lot through trial and error, and still know there is a lot I don’t know. I would love to learn more from crewing with some “Old Salts” who actually know what they’re doing.Crew Experience: Started as pit and rail meat on a Farr 395 out of Norwich CT while living out east. Moved back to Eau Claire and crewed two years on various daysailors on Lake Wissota as sheet trimmer. Moved to Milwaukee and crewed for two years as sheet grinder/pit on a J130; was also shore crew for Race to Mackinac but never got to do the actual run up the Lake. After moving back to the area, I bought my Catalina 22 and have sailed her for coming up on four years. Now don’t let this fool you; I still consider myself a novice who needs to be barked at from time to time and is certainly in need of an education on more- effective race tactics and perfecting trim.I am Interested in crewing weeknights/Fridays (Beercans, Tuesdays, etc.) and some weekends. Can do Committee Boat as well. Also very (very) interested in crewing for Bayfield Race Week if anyone will have me. Thanks in advance, can’t wait to join you on the water!
