Crew Looking for Boats

  • Name:  Louis – experienced looking to crew
Message:  We are moving to Hudson from Idaho and I am looking to crew, meet the sailing community in the area and have fun in regattas. I have sailed recently on Laser for regattas and SanJuan21. I have experiences on a variety of boats:
    – as crew in regattas: Dufour40 (bow, trim, mast), GrandSoleil50 (overnight helm and all positions), J80 (trim, mast),
    – as skipper in regattas: J80, SunFast3200, First36.5, First 25.7, Optimist, 420, Laser.
    – leisure: Ponant, Dufour40, A35, GrandSurprise, etc.
I sailed keel boats mainly on the english channel between UK in France, Atlantic shores (France and Spain), and little time on lakes (Finland).

I can help with any positions and looking forward to Crew with somebody. Please contact me.

    Thank you,
    Louis

  • Name:  Chad
Message:  Hello, Skipper! I grew up in a powerboat family, and bought my first 13′ aluminum rowboat with an outboard by the time I was 12. I sailed my first dinghy as a kid in Scouts, then saved up enough of my lawn mowing money to buy an old Sunfish from a nearby neighbor. Whenever I had a chance, I’d sail my cousin’s sailboard, and then I went off to college, started a career and family. Now, I’m ready to pick up where I left off and registered for this summer’s ASA 101 course with Saint Croix Sailing School. I’m eager to learn on any vessel, and ultimately would love to own a cruiser for retirement. Meanwhile, any time on the water would be time well spent learning the ropes.

I live in Woodbury, minutes away from the marina, and I have a flexible work schedule – as I mostly work from home. My daughter is in the Opti class again this year, and we plan on participating on Wednesday Family Race nights! We hope to see you there!

  • Name:  Philip Burton
Message:  Recently moved to Wisconsin from North Carolina. I got my start sailing in high school by racing keel boats offshore. I raced 22′-42′ boats offshore for 6 or 7 years before moving to lightnings (19′ three person boat). I raced lightnings for about 10 years. Our boat won several district championships and I’ve raced in the Lightning North American Championships many times. I generally do foredeck because I’m light and agile, but can do other roles as well. I’ve taken a few years off from sailing and am looking to get back into racing or even just booze cruising. If you’re looking for regular crew or even just a pick-up person, let me know.

Boats Looking for Crew

  • Name:  Hairy Bear
Message: The hairy bear is looking for 1 to 2 people to crew on the boat. The ability to make 90% of the races a must. ASA certification will not be held against you. Bring your own beer. I buy appetizers for a double horn. You will learn the positions I need you for on the boat. Racing experience not necessary but appreciated. If you want to have fun and be competitive give me a call. Don’t bother emailing me. If you text me I might get back to you. And yes we are flying the spinnaker tonight.
